Aunt Lou here.
This recipe is amazingly easy and the sauce is divine! If you love ranch, you are going to love these potatoes! It is the perfect side for a roast, yummy chicken or delicious pork chops. Whatever you decide to serve this side dish with, you are going to love the addition they make to your table!
Creamy Crock Pot Ranch Potatoes Notes:
- If you need a longer cook time, cut your potatoes into larger pieces. If you need a shorter cook time, cut your potatoes into smaller pieces.
- If you cook on high, toward the end of the cooking time, you will want to switch to low. Otherwise, the liquid will bubble up and overflow.
- If you want a more mild ranch taste, use only one packet of seasoning. I have made it both ways, we prefer the fuller taste. Totally up to your preferences!

- 6 medium russet potatoes peeled and cubed
- 8 oz block cream cheese cubed
- 2 oz ranch dressing mix (2 - 1 oz envelopes)
- 2 tablespoons butter sliced
- 2 cups water
Instructions
Combine all your ingredients in your 3-quart crock pot
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours (If cooking on high, watch carefully at the end. When the ingredients start to bubble up, switch to low for remaining time.) Stir occasionally through cooking.
Sauce will be thin when the potatoes are done, let it rest for 30 minutes with the crock pot off and lid removed for a thicker sauce.
